The boss battles are more intense and feature more than just a lot of QTEs (those are still there though).
The story is definitely an improvement to the first if you don’t mind a more linear progression. The intro begins after Natuto’s 3 year gap from The Hurricane Chronicles. You can follow an older Naruto and Sasuke through their individual journeys in the adventure mode or jump right into the action with local and (for the first time ever) online PVP. Fans love of Ultimate Ninja 1 shaped this game directly and the developers made a point to fix specific areas of gameplay to try to create a more well rounded- experience. As the very first sequel in the Storm series there were some pretty big shoes to fill. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is where the story takes the stage. I can appreciate the attention to detail and the artwork but if you’re looking for a fluid Naruto PVP experience, I would go with Ninja storm 3 or 4.Ī bevy of fighting in Ninja Storm Revolution The story is more of an exhibition than a story and leaves a lot to be desired. The addition of “drive-types” allows players to pick a type of combat style for their ninjas but seems like an unfinished system. There's a heavy focus on defensive combat, no doubt to add more depth and strategy to the game, but it starts to feel a bit unfair at times. While the overall feel of the game is improved, the new combat mechanics may feel a bit out of balance.
With another big addition to the roster, some new gameplay mechanics and a few short films Rrevolution seemed to be deserving of its highly anticipated release. This addition of the storm series comes in with original artwork and 100 playable characters. While it improves on the series in significant ways, unfortunately, it’s lacking in others.
